Intermediate & Perennial is a much better buy than annual. Deeper green, more uniform look • Less equipment fatigue • Spring transition is easier • No grass to pick up and dispose of.

With Intermediate and Perennial ryegrass you’ll do less mowing while enjoying a beautiful winter grass. Mowing is 4 times easier. Intermediate and Perennial is a much slower growing turfgrass than annual. If you have to skip mowing for 2-3 weeks it’s no big deal. Try that with annual.

Winter Ryegrass is a tremendous asset to residential, commercial and sports field properties. Good quality ryegrass will give you many benefits:

1) Horticulture is all about the visual, the feel you get when viewing and walking a property. Good quality ryegrass will make a place look sensational during the late fall thru early spring months.

2) Ryegrass will improve clay soils on a year round basis. Typically a 1,000 sq ft area will have 225,000 individual ryegrass plants growing in it. Each plant will produce up to 300 miles of roots. That’s 67,500,000 miles of roots per 1,000 sq ft all breaking up the clay soils, adding rich organic matter and building up populations of beneficial microbes.

3) The big keys are the correct application rates, good seed distribution and proper fertilization. And never use annual rye on horticulture properties or sports fields. Problems with Ryegrass: Most common problems are 1) Seed did not germinate or 2) Poor uneven look. All ryegrass comes with a seed guarantee that lists the % of seed per bag and the germination rate. When seed does not perform as expected it is because of either poor seed application or it’s a watering problem. Please contact us for correct seed establishment info. We want you to be very successful and happy.
